Just because he sends a million emails doesn't mean he has a million readers.

old email addresses on his system

junk folder filings

deleted emails

One person forwarded me one of his articles many years ago, and I had to "register for free" to read it. Lo and behold, I was on the list now, even though I wasn't interested or overly impressed.

Eventually I got tired of deleting them and used the "unsubscribe" link, but for about a year or more, I was one of those counted as a "reader" who really did not read.

From what I know about the dynamics of email subscription lists, and how easy Mauldin makes it to sign up, I reckon probably just about 1/2 of the people he sends an email to are people that actually open them.
